March 2nd – Enemy Lines I: Rebel Dream

Well, the big news lately is that of Aaron Allston passing away.  I wonder if it’s a coincidence that I’ll be reading one of his books next.  It’s a series I look forward too – due to the fact I know what has happened in them.  Plus, it has Wedge on the cover.  The EU has lost a pair of important authors now on my journey – Allston and of course A.C. Crispin who passed away in the fall.  I appreciate both of their contributions to Star Wars, and have written some stories that I’ve really enjoyed.  With all of the awesome (or hopefully awesomeness will come of it) news going on with new movies, the Disney acquisition/theme park thing, Clone Wars coming to Netflix (including season 6 which was unaired!), realizing you’ve lost these two individuals in the past 6 months takes away some of the joy.  I think it’s safe to say they’d want us as fans to appreciate what is happening and will happen, and know that they have made lasting contributions to the Star Wars universe.

Regarding Dark Journey – yeah, Jaina wants to go bad.  Even with the end, it still feels like she wants to stray away.  I’ll have to keep a lookout to see if anything else affects her and sways her one way or another.
